Independent Living Skills


The Service :

The program offers youth moving into independent living situations a variety of necessary life skills to assist in their independent success.  The program is particularly beneficial for those youth moving from foster placement into apartment settings or boarding situations, from schools into post secondary institutions or dormitory environments as well as work placements.

The program is flexible in application to meet the needs of individual clients and adapts to various leaning styles and abilities.  Upon completion of the referral process, a comprehensive case plan, which includes specific tasks and time frames, is developed.  Following case formulation, teaching of necessary skills begins.  Independent Living Skills Coaches provide hands on teaching opportunities to youth to assist in the acquisition of skills collateral to consistent supervision of the above.
